Este tipo de violencia con frecuencia se da ligado a otras formas de maltrato, no obstante observamos que diferentes protocolos de entrevista publicados para explorarla, no la evalúan o lo hacen de forma superficial. Esto se suma al hecho de que algunas de las mujeres que lo sufren no son conscientes del maltrato, ni de la gravedad e impacto real que tiene sobre ellas. Tämä tutkimus tarkastelee lähisuhteissaan väkivaltaisten miesten käsityksiä seksistä heteroseksuaalisen, monogamisen parisuhteen kontekstissa. Huomio kiinnittyi seksille annettuihin merkityksiin, väkivallan ja seksin erottamiseen tai yhdistämiseen sekä seksin sukupuolittamisen tapoihin hoitoryhmissä käydyissä keskusteluissa. Metamorphoses of Shamed Bodies : Sexual Violence in Euripides’s Helen

In this paper I explore the connections between shame and embodiment in Euripides’s play Helen. The paper focuses on the play’s underlying theme of sexual violence and rape, and on the descriptions of metamorphoses that the mythological female victims often undergo in the face of rape. In my analysis on shame and embodiment I apply two insights from Giorgio Agamben’s analysis of the phenomenon of victim shame in The Remnants of Auschwitz. These are, first, the definition according to which shame is “to be consigned to what cannot be assumed”—that is, to be consigned to one’s self, being and physical body—and second, the claim that in shame one is affected by one’s own (bodily) passivity. Effectiveness of a screening program for HBV, HCV, and HIV infections in African migrants to Sicily

BACKGROUND Migrants from Africa are vulnerable to viral infections during their journey. METHODS Migrants who arrived in western Sicily were offered early screening for hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. A questionnaire was administered to evaluate risk factors, and antiviral therapy was offered to subjects with active infection. A multiple regression analysis and adjusted odds ratio were obtained to evaluate risk factors. RESULTS Overall, 2,639 of 2,751 (95.9%) migrants who arrived between 2015 and 2017 accepted screening and 1,911 (72.4%) completed the questionnaire. This paper examines attitudes to sexual morality held by the Yankton Dakota author and activist Gertrude Bonnin (1876–1938), better known by her penname Zitkála-Šá (Red Bird in Lakota). Bonnin’s concerns encompass several themes: the victimization of Indian women, disintegration of Native courtship rituals, sexual threats posed by peyote use, and the predatory nature of Euro-American men. This critique as a whole — in which a ‘white invasion,’ in her words, leads to a corruption of Native sexuality — sometimes produces inconsistencies, particularly regarding Bonnin’s statements on the alleged sexual perils of peyote.
